About CruiserTips.com

I created CruiserTips.com as a place to publish simple and brief tips for new cruisers and those who haven't spent years on board yet.  The goal is to make it easy to find those small and large things that cruisers often learn the hard way.  From the best way to clean a marine head to keeping spiders off your boat, I hope to publish high-quality but brief articles of interest to anyone who spends a night or more on board their boat.

I welcome your feedback, and more importantly, your article suggestions.  Take a look around the site and if you see something that's missing, write an article and send it to me.  Remember, the fewer words that get the point across, the better.  Spelling and grammar do count, and articles may be edited for clarity.

Who am I?

I've been boating all my life, mostly on smaller, non-cruising boats.  My first cruiser was a 1989 Wellcraft Monte Carlo 2800, which had been sunk in a hurricane.  I've rebuilt a number of boats in the past, but this was my first cruiser rebuild.  Currently we spend nearly every summer weekend on our 2001 Bayliner 2455, which is in a slip at Scorpion Bay Marina on Lake Pleasant, AZ.  We make near-shore trips to Catalina Island every year and cruise the nearby coast.
